Steven Mnuchin – Secretary of the Treasury
The secretary of the United States treasury is the primary adviser on matters related to the economy, and primary duties include:
- The treasury secretary provides suggestions on foreign and domestic economic policy, and develops strategies to alleviate current issues.
- He also manages the public debt and is the financial representative for the United States.
- The secretary supervises the creation of United States currency, and handles the availability of cash to markets.
Steven Terner Mnuchin:
Steven Mnuchin graduated Yale university in 1985, and started a career at Goldman Sachs. He left Goldman Sachs in 2002 as it’s Chief Information Officer, and started multiple hedge funds. After the financial crisis of 2008, Mnuchin purchased and renamed a failed bank, which he then sold in 2015. In 2016 he became the finance chairman of the Trump campaign, and in 2017 he was confirmed as the secretary of treasury.
