On Thursday, London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan called for Theresa May to cancel Donald Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom just hours after the President posted anti-Islam videos to his Twitter feed.
Mr Khan had this to say:
“President Trump yesterday used Twitter to promote a vile, extremist group that exists solely to sow division and hatred in our country,”
He followed that statement with asking the British Government to make a request that Trump remove the videos in question and to issue an apology Britain’s people.
The visit was to take place in January and include the inauguration of a new American Embassy and a meeting with the Queen, but a U.S. Diplomat told The Telegraph the same day that a visit from the U.S. President should not be expected.
The White House has yet to comment.
